Ralph Scott Bell, 71, of Altamont, IL died at 6:04 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at Altamont Christian Church with Jody Kitts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont with military rites by Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger VFW Post # 7676 and Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post #512, Altamont. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ralph was born on Thursday, June 16, 1955 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Ralph Harold and Grayce Marie (Richards) Bell. He married Angela Reeves on August 6, 1988. He was an over the road truck driver and a member of the Altamont Christian Church. Ralph was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife of over 38 years, he is survived by; his son, James (Mindy) Rogers, St. Elmo; Daughters, Robin (Paul) Wigginton, Danville and Kim (John) Edwards, Vandalia; brother, Ken Bell, Decatur; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; sister, Annette; sister-in-law, Mary Bell; and granddaughter, Brianna Rogers.
