The investigation into an officer-involved shooting is underway in Decatur. According to Interim Chief of Police James Getz, officers responded to a call regarding a man with a gun just after 1:00 this morning (Monday, July 11, 2016). During the engagement, one officer fired his weapon, striking the suspect. The man, who was identified only as a 40-year old black male, is listed in serious condition. The investigation has been turned over to the Illinois State Police.
