David L. Williams, 76, of Windsor passed away Monday, Augusts 8, 2016 at his home. Born February 21, 1940 in Mattoon he was the son of Ova and Margaret (Lewis) Williams. On October 6, 1963 he and Rose Mary Wallace were united in marriage in Windsor. For many years David worked for Justrite in Mattoon prior to his retirement, he also served in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren fishing and working.
Surviving are his wife Rose Mary of Windsor; son Kyle of Mattoon; daughter Dana Caywood and Special friend Brandon Kapper of Windsor; grandchildren Brendon, Zachary Caywood both of Windsor, Destiny Williams of Toledo, Christian Williams of Shumway; sisters Ruby (Jim) Helm of Mattoon, Martha Brown of Mcleansboro; brother Morris (Esther) Williams of Melbourne, FL. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Lowell and Cecil and sister Mary Page.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Lovins-Lockart funeral home in Windsor. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with pastor Anthony Smith officiating. The family wishes to request a casual dress. Cremation rites will follow and burial will be at a later date at the Windsor Cemetery.
