A Charleston woman is charged with a hate crime for allegedly using a racial epithet against an African-American man from Effingham. Diana Yamamoto appeared in court yesterday on charges she allegedly threatened to “hang him from a tree and kill him.” If convicted, Yamamoto could face up to five years in prison. She’s due in court August 29th.
