Both Tri-County and Martinsville both came into Friday night looking for their first Little Okaw Valley Conference win of the season, also, Tri-County came in seeking its first win overall this year.
Tri-County started the scoring about midway through the first quarter on a Dalton Skiles 1 yard run to take the lead. The Titans went for the two point conversion and Dalton Conner ran it in for the 8-0 after the first quarter.
Martinsville’s Alex McDearmon scored on a one yard run of his own early in the second quarter to answer Tri-County’s early score.
Tri-County answered right back though in the second quarter. Skiles ran it in from 14 yards out for the touchdown and the Skiles extra point made it 15-6.
Late in the second quarter, Dalton Rollings ran in from nine yards and Martinsville trained by just one at halftime.
Nobody scored in the second half as Tri-County won their first game of the 2016 season.
Tri-County is now 1-5 overall this year and 1-2 in conference play. The Titans will take on Cumberland (3-3) on the road next week.
With the loss, Martinsville drops to 1-5 on the year and 0-3 in the conference. The Bluestreaks will play another winless team, at Palestine (0-6) next week.
