According to WCIA Online, it’s midterm week for nursing students at St. John’s Nursing College in Springfield, IL and the faculty decided puppy therapy could help students wind down for a moment before taking their tests. A St John’s employee breeds welsh springer spaniel dogs and brought them to campus to allowed students to come play, cuddle, and get puppy kisses for ten minutes at a time. The hospital has used licensed therapy dogs to help patients, but this is the first time they decided to help students take the stress of trying to succeed and calm their nerves with puppy snuggles. Most of the students said it paid off and was fun to cuddle the tiny and cute puppies and got their mind off of books and test questions.
