According to WCIA online, yesterday, October 15 2016, in Urbana Police are looking for a suspect shooter that fired several shots on a residential street in broad daylight. Silver Street and Vawter Street is where one witness says she heard three shots fired before noon while leaving her house. Investigation details from the Police so far are that no one got hurt from the shoots fired and no points of impact have been found yet from the bullets. Other people on Silver Street that heard the same noise, weren’t actually sure what they heard before noon. Sherri Bolen was the witness that heard the shots fired when her and her husband were headed to their car parked on the street. Bolen also said she looked toward the noise near apartment buildings and said she saw the possible suspect with a gun wearing red sweatpants and a grey or black hoodie with the hood up. At the time of the shots being fired there was a van coming down the street that was what was possibly being shot at from the shooter. The suspect then disappeared between two buildings and tucked the gun in his pocket or pants. Again Police have not found any bullet holes to suggest a shooting happened, but it wouldn’t be the first time in that neighborhood as this past Summer a 19 year old was shot and seriously injured.
