Illinois’ community colleges should know by the end of next week how much of the newly approved three-million-dollars in emergency money they’re going to get. The state’s community college board says the money is intended to tide schools over until lawmakers can come to terms on a full state budget. But that could be a while. Community colleges say they’ve been limping along in the state for years.
