Pop Star George Michael Dies At Age 53
(Undated) — George Michael’s longtime manager says the singer died of heart failure. Speaking to “Billboard,” Michael Lippman said the former Wham! star’s death was unexpected. He passed away at his home in England on Christmas Day. Police are calling his death unexplained, but not suspicious. The Grammy-winning pop star sold more than 100-million records over his nearly four decade career. Fellow celebs including the likes of Elton John and Madonna were quick to react to the loss online. The Grammy-awarding Recording Academy issued a statement calling Michael “one of the most beloved pop craftsmen and respected entertainers.” His 1989 album “Faith” was named Album of the Year by the Academy.
George Michael was 53-years-old.
