Fatigue is to blame for an accident on I-57 over the weekend. According to the Illinois State Police, 40-year-old Roland Balossa, of Texas was in no state to be behind the wheel when he crashed his semi truck into an interstate median and rolled onto its side early Saturday morning. The accident happened on I-57 southbound about five miles north of Effingham. Balossa was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital and later airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital. He was ticketed for improper lane usage and driving while ill or fatigued.
