Shelby County electronic recycling day will be April 15th from 8-11am. A 10-dollar donation is asked for all TVs, computer monitors and larger items. Proceeds will go to the Shelby County Rescue Squad. Items can be dropped off at the Forest Park baseball/softball parking lot in Shelbyville.
Here is the list of acceptable materials from the Lake Shelbyville website.
“Shelby County Electronic Recycling Acceptable Materials: Computers, Monitors, Printers, Faxes, Copiers, Laptops, TVs Mainframes, Peripherals, Modems, Telephones, Answering Machines Adding Machines, Microwaves, Scanners, DVD players, VCRs, Stereo Equipment Pagers, Cell Phones, Camera’s, Camcorders, Video Games, Software, CD/Disc E-Readers, Small Handheld Electronics, Cables, Calculators, Shredders, UPS’s Electronic Motors, Scanners, Plotters, Terminals Prohibited Materials NO white goods will be accepted such as refrigerators, stoves, etc. NO old TVs and monitors with broken tubes will be accepted. NO radioactive, hazardous materials NO non-electronics NO corrosives such as batteries NO compressed gas cylinders such as propane tanks, spray cans NO flammable materials, pesticides, oil filters, mercury switches, lead, fluorescent lights NO refrigerants, air conditioners, smoke detectors, dehumidifiers NO PCBs such as capacitors, transformers, ballast NO explosives such as firearms, ammunition, shells NO paint NO small home appliances and home improvement products such as toasters, blenders, power tools, etc. NO fluorescent tubes, light bulbs Residential Items ONLY. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ITEMS. There will be a $10 donation fee for TV’s, Monitors, and large items requested.”
