According to a recent press release from the Illinois State Police District 10, a traffic crash sent one injured to Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The crash occurred on I-74 East Bound around Milepost 214. during the afternoon hours on Friday, May 26th.
A 2015 Volvo Truck Tractor Semi Trailer (Unit 2) and a 2007 International Truck Tractor Semi Trailer (Unit 3) were stopped in the slow lane of Traffic in an upcoming construction zone on I-74 when a 2016 Volvo Truck Tractor Semi Trailer (Unit 1) was unable to slow down in time and struck the rear of Unit 2 which caused a chain reaction into Unit 3. Units 1 and 2 were towed from the scene as a result of the damage. Both lanes were closed for approximately two hours. East Bound traffic was diverted around the crash scene on a side road.
The Driver of Unit 1, Vermon T. Brown, 44, of Danville, IL was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. All lanes of traffic are now open.
