(Chicago, IL) — The state of Illinois is joining a national communications network for first responders. Governor Rauner says Illinois is partnering with FirstNet and AT&T to create a secure network that provides emegency personnel with enhanced wireless broadband technology. He says the state needs a network that can accommodate all emergency responders on one platform. Illinois becomes the 37th state to opt into the National First Responder Network, being built and maintained at no cost to the state.
