(Atlanta, GA) — This year’s deadly flu season is unrelenting and showing no signs of slowing down. CDC health officials say this year’s flu season is worse than the 2009 swine flu epidemic. The CDC’s weekly flu report suggest the flu is still widespread everywhere, except Hawaii — and it hasn’t peaked yet. Thousands of people have been hospitalized in what experts are calling the worst flu season in 15-years. The pediatric death toll continues to climb, claiming the lives of 37 children — which officials believe could explode to 148 pediatric deaths by the end of the season. Some schools are closed “due to widespread flu and illness” across the country.
