(Washington, DC) — U.S. military exercises in South Korea are being “indefinitely suspended” to help advance talks with North Korea. The Pentagon announced today that three war games operations scheduled over the next three months were suspended by Defense Secretary James Mattis. The war exercises with South Korea have been a source of contention with North Korea for years. The maneuvers were a major sticking point leading up to the Singapore summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
