According to the Illinois State Police, there was a traffic crash resulting in injury on I-74 early Friday afternoon. According to preliminary investigation, Travis Fischer, 36, of Ferdinand, Illinois, was traveling along westbound I-74 near milepost 183, approaching Lincoln Avenue in the center lane. Scott Davis, 51, of Mahomet, Illinois, was traveling in front of Fischer when a deer ran in front of them. Davis applied his breaks to avoid colliding with the deer and Fischer was unable to avoid rear ending Davis. Collision caused Davis to spin to the left shoulder, Fischer jack knifed tuning onto the driver’s side, blocking the center and right lanes. Some of the livestock in the trailer of Fischer’s vehicle spilled from the trailer. All the live stocked was contained into the right ditch and the Fischer’s trailer. Both drivers were transported to an area Hospital, Fischer with non-life threatening injuries. Davis was transported with serious injuries, there were no charges.
