Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond hosted Decatur LSA/Decatur Christian in their homecoming game on Friday night in hopes of giving Decatur their first loss of the season.
Decatur, though, had other plans to spoil ALAH’s homecoming game and they got to it quickly. Decatur began the scoring with a 20 yard touchdown pass in the firs quarter to take a quick lead. The Lions added another in the first will an 11 yard touchdown run and led 13-0 after one.
Decatur LSA cruised to a 46-8 victory to stay unbeaten and take down ALAH on homecoming night for the Knights.
Decatur was not done in the first half though, three touchdowns including two Jackson Allen touchdown runs and a long run from Reynolds, made it 34-0 at halftime.
ALAH, still without a score in the game, let up another touchdown run from Allen, this one from a yard out, to trail 40-0 entering the final quarter of the first conference game for both sides.
A 28 yard touchdown pass from Housh to Vought ended the scoring for Decatur before Arthur was finally able to get on the board.
It was a long 53 yard run from Marcus Vanausdoll that put the Knights on the scoreboard for the first time all night, and only time. The final was Decatur over ALAH 46-8.
With the loss, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond drops to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in Little Okaw Valley play. The Knights will take on undefeated Argenta-Orena (4-0) next week on the road.
With the win, Decatur LSA/Decatur Christian improves to 4-0 and 1-0 in conference play. The Lions will host another undefeated team, Sangamon Valley (4-0), next week.
