Two early middle of the pack teams in the Central Illinois Conference met on Friday night. Shelbyville traveled to Warrensburg-Latham to meet the Cardinals.
Lots of scoring in this ball game and it started in the first quarter for Shelbyville. They succeed on the two point conversion after a touchdown and led 8-0 after the first.
The second quarter things really picked up on the offensive end. Shelbyville found the endzone five times in the second quarter for a total of 32 points in one quarter.
Warrensburg sort of hung with the Rams though. The Cardinals scored three touchdowns of their own an trailed 40-18 at the half.
Shelbyville scored eight more in the third quarter to end their scoring and Warrensburg found the endzone twice in the third and nobody was able to score in the fourth.
Shelbyville topped Warrensburg in a high scoring game, 48-34.
After the win, Shelbyville improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Conference play. The Rams will host winless Meridian next week.
Warrensburg-Latham falls to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in Conference play after the loss. The Cardinals host Tuscola next week.
