Casey-Westfield hosted Red Hill Friday night in a Little Illini Conference matchup. A Conference which already has two teams, Marshall and Newton, that clinched a playoff birth. Both of these teams had a chance still at a birth, but both are pretty slim chances.
Red Hill struck first in the first quarter and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead 13-0 after the first quarter.
The Salukis kept up the pace from the first quarter, and even topped it. Red Hill scored three times in the second quarter and still held Casey-Westfield scoreless.
At halftime, Casey-Westfield trailed 31-0.
Red Hill did not stop scoring in the second half, putting up 25 more points and holding strong on defense, not allowing Casey-Westfield to put any numbers on the board.
After the loss, Casey-Westfield drops to 1-6 on the year and is eliminated from a playoff birth. The Warriors drop to 1-5 in Little Illini play with the loss as well. They will at Marshall (6-1), who just lost their first game of the season this week.
With the win, Red Hill’s playoff hopes stay alive with a 3-4 overall record and a 3-3 record in the conference. Red Hill will need to win both of their final games for a playoff bid. They will Lawrenceville (3-4) next week then will be at Flora for their final game.
