Illinois Department of Transportation and the Department of Natural Resources are warning drivers of hazards that come with the fall season.
The most common months for deer-related accidents in Illinois are October through December with November being the highest-risk month.
They say to be on high alert for deer on roadways throughout the state since autumn coincides with the mating season and increased deer movement.
There is especially an increase in the the hazards around dusk and dawn.
Officials suggest being on high alert, especially in rural areas.
