From WCIA, Senate Democrats are clashing with governor Rauner over the future of senior care.
They are saying that the governor’s plan, the Community Reinvestment Program, may remove home care services to some green card holders that are currently provided as part of the Community Care Program.
CRP has drawn criticism from both Senate Democrats and advocates for the elderly like AARP. The Deputy Director from the Department on Aging, Jennifer Reif, said if they’re already in the program they won’t be kicked out.
Senators from both sides have reached out to voters to read the legislation and contact their representatives or the Department on Aging with questions on how care might change under the new proposal.
