Officials at the University of Illinois are attempting to keep students in Illinois by working with the state.
U of I officials have announced a potential partnership with the state called the “Invest in Illinois” or Tripple-I program.
WAND-TV reports the measure would provide $170 million worth of financial aid for in-state students, with a total of $850 million being provided over the next five years.
Officials are developing the plan in an effort to stop out-migration of students who leave Illinois for post-secondary education.
