From the National Weather Service in Lincoln: The Wind Advisory has been extended through Thursday Morning, May 18th at 4:00 a.m. Winds could vary in gusts from 25-35 mph and at times possible up to 45 mph. The winds will continue to cause dangerous driving conditions throughout the overnight hours. Numerous car accidents have been reported, especially on the Interstates.
Counties impacted include: Mason, Logan, De-Witt, Piatt, Champaign, Vermilion, Sangamon, Christian, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Edgar, Shelby, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clay, Richland, and Lawrence.
