(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner is claiming that even some Democrats are getting behind the changes he made to the school funding reform bill that’s waiting for a House override vote. Rauner says he talks to lawmakers from both sides almost every day and says he’s getting more support for his amendatory veto of the school funding bill that the Senate has voted to override. He says the support is growing after the state school board’s scoring of his changes. It shows most districts except Chicago get more in the short run than under the original SB1, but stand to lose money in the years ahead.
