(Miami, FL) — The National Weather Service has declared a flash flood emergency for Naples, Marco Island, Chokoloskee and Everglades City until 6 p.m. Eastern. Doppler radar indicates the center of Hurricane Irma is near Marco Island. Flash flooding from a life-threatening storm surge is expected to begin shortly along coastal Collier County. The Weather Service says this is a flash flood emergency for Collier County and is a particularly dangerous situation.
