A single vehicle crash claims the life of one in Vermilion County during the morning hours of Monday, September 11th 2017. According to preliminary details from Illinois State Police, Unit #1 was southbound along County Road 1800 East and County Road 2650 North in Vermilion County when he began to exit the roadway towards the right entering a ditch embankment. Afterwards he traveled through the ditch into a grain elevator parking lot. Soon after Unit 1 struck two grain augers and drove over two large rock piles, causing the car to roll onto its left side. Due to failure to wear a seatbelt, unit 1 was ejected and fatally injured. The crash remains under investigation at this time, and the driver has only been identified as a 57 year old male from Illinois.
