(Washington, DC) — Senate Republicans are abandoning healthcare reform this year. Lawmakers announced the decision today. It comes a day after Maine Republican Susan Collins effectively voiced her opposition to the Graham-Cassidy healthcare overhaul bill. Collins says she’d join two other GOP lawmakers in voting against the GOP bill to repeal and replace Obamacare. Some lawmakers voiced fear it would take too much money away from Medicaid. Lead sponsor Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said the legislation would be revisited after addressing the issue of tax reform.
