(Santa Rosa, CA) — Thirty-six people are confirmed dead from wildfires raging in northern California. The fires have destroyed thousands of homes and entire neighborhoods. Over 200 people are reported missing. Firefighters will be battling high winds as they try to contain the fires this weekend. A red flag warning is in effect across much of California. The National Weather Service says if any new fires start, they could spread extremely rapidly because of the winds.
