(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner says the Republican tax bill needs more work before he finds it acceptable. Rauner has refused to discuss specifics about the Senate bill that’s heading for a vote, or about the House bill already passed, but says he’s communicating his concerns to people in Washington. He says there should be one guiding principle for any tax reform bill, and that’s whether it increases the take-home pay of middle class taxpayers. Asked how the current bills fare in that regard, Rauner says, “They are not where they need to be. They’re not there yet.”
