(Washington, DC) — President Trump wants to revamp the way immigrants come to the United States. In his weekly address, Trump said the immigration system should allow foreign nationals to enter the country based on merit and their love for the country. He mentioned the two terror attacks that have happened in recent months, citing that both suspects were immigrants who came in on the old immigration system which allows chain migration and the visa lottery. Trump said the system isn’t compatible with national security. This week the President signed the National Defense Authorization Act, calling it a historic step to rebuild the military. Trump is also urging Congress to pass the Clean Government Appropriations Bill, which he says will fully fund military needs.
