(Undated) — The annual Christmas return-a-thon is kicking off today. The National Retail Federation says Americans return nearly 90-billion worth of gifts over the holiday season and three out of four holiday shoppers checked return policies prior to making purchases. But the group adds that although gift receipts make exchanging un-wanted gifts easier, only 27-percent of gift-givers include them. They say if you’re headed to make exchanges or returns, don’t forget your ID if you don’t have gift receipts. Older consumers will return roughly four-percent of their gifts but younger Millennials are expected to return about seven-percent.
