(Cupertino, CA) — The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Apple after the company admitted it slowed down older iPhones. In early January older iPhone users discovered Apple was purposefully slowing down their devices. Apple said the move was to preserve “aging” battery lives and to prevent iPhones from shutting off. The company apologized shortly after and said an update would be released in the spring to turn off the speed-throttling functions. Apple has not made a comment concerning the government’s investigation.
