(Parkland, FL) — Florida’s Department of Children and Families is releasing records on the suspect in last week’s high school shooting. The documents show that DCF was called in September 2016 to investigate allegations that Nikolas Cruz was abused by his mother. The investigation found no evidence of abuse. However, it details his history with depression and cutting himself, as well as his desire to get a gun. A statement from the agency says Cruz was getting mental health services before, during and after its investigation was closed.
