(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner says the state will revisit the idea of transferring veterans out of the century-old state home in Quincy where Legionnaires’ disease remains a problem. Rauner calls it frustrating to hear that a fourth new case of Legionnaires’ has cropped up at the home where 13 people have died from it since 2015. Rauner promises all options are on the table, including an idea rejected before — moving the veterans. He says the problem with transferring residents is that it exposes the medically vulnerable to other illnesses. He’s promising a plan in the very near future.
