According to a recent press release from the Charleston Police Department, 30 year-old Joshua A. Mannin of Charleston, IL, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery. Details indicate around 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4th, Charleston PD Officers, along with members of the Charleston Fire Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of 6th street reference a report of a subject falling, resulting in a head injury. The victim (female) was reported to have multiple visible injuries on the face, arms and legs. She was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center for brief treatment before being airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. Over a 36 hour period, police investigation uncovered evidence the victim had been battered by Mannin. Mannin was taken to the Coles County Jail pending a court hearing.
