(Damascus) — U.S. military officials are denying that the U.S. was behind an apparent airstrike on a military airbase in Syria. Multiple reports citing Syrian state media say there were several explosions at the airbase near the city of Homs in the central part of the country. So far, there’s been no confirmation about who launched the strike. It comes after a suspected chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held suburb of Damascus left dozens dead this weekend. President Trump warned that there would be a price to pay for the attack. He also placed blame on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his backers in Russia and Iran.
