(St. Louis, MO) — Hernan Perez and Eric Thames hit solo home runs as the Brewers clipped the Cardinals 3-2 in the rubber match of a three-game series at Busch Stadium. Jonathan Villar’s RBI-groundout in the fifth proved to be the difference. Junior Guerra was called up from the minors to make the start for the Crew. He allowed one run on four hits over five-and-a-third innings to earn the win. Matt Albers recorded the final two outs for his first save. Tommy Pham homered in the ninth to pull the Cards within one. Adam Wainwright yielded three runs in seven frames as he fell to 0-and-2 with the loss. The Brewers are 7-and-6 on the season, while the Redbirds fell to 5-and-7.
