According to a recent press release from Illinois State Police District 12, on Thursday, May 24th Suzette Ashbaugh, 45, of Ellsworth, KS was traveling westbound on I-70 near milepost 143, just 4 miles west of Marshall in Clark County. While driving she left the roadway towards the right and struck the rear of a parked IDOT truck that was parked along the right shoulder. After striking the truck, Ashbaugh’s vehicle veered off into the ditch where it then came to a rest.
Ashbaugh and one passenger, Joann Ashbaugh, 24, also of Ellsworth were airlifted to Carle Hospital. The second passenger, Kelsea Cline, 28, of Columbus, OH was transported to a regional hospital in Terre Haute. Any charges remain pending at this time.
