A Mulberry Grove Resident is air-lifted and faces multiple charges following a single vehicle injury crash Sunday, June 3rd, along U.S. Route 40. Preliminary details from Illinois State Police District 12 indicate 28 year-old Derek Spradling of Mulberry Grove, IL was westbound on Route 40 when he lost control of his vehicle traveling off the north side, then back across the roadway to the south side where the vehicle overturned multiple times. Due to not wearing a seatbelt Spradling was ejected from the vehicle and then air-lifted by Air Evac to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with serious injuries. Spradling was charged with improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident and failure to wear a seatbelt.
