(New York, NY) — The line between U.S. professional sports league and gambling is getting thinner. The NBA became the first with an official gaming company sponsor. NBA Commission Adam Silver announced today a three-year, 25-million dollar deal with MGM which will allow it to use league highlights, names, logos and its direct data feed. It is also the official gaming partner for the NBA and WNBA. Sports leagues have avoided any ties to the gaming industry because of fears of fixing games. The highlights from games will appear on MGM’s betting app which is available in states that allow online betting.
