Two Terre Haute men are in custody following their arrest on multiple drug and gun charges. According to the Indiana State Police, 39-year-old Lewis Ross and 31-year-old Gary Makin were pulled over Tuesday night. Troopers said Ross appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, and a blood test revealed a positive test for amphetamines and opiates. Troopers also found several syringes in the trunk of the car. Mankin was in possession of methamphetamine, scales, a .25 caliber pistol, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. The handgun was reported stolen out of Macomb in 2001. Ross faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, unlawful possession of syringes, and several traffic violations. Mankin faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, carrying a handgun without a license, and theft of a firearm.
