(Undated) — The nation’s unemployment lines are a little longer. The Labor Department reports today that 213-thousand Americans filed first-time claims for jobless benefits last week. That’s three-thousand more than the week before and basically in line with what economists were expecting. The biggest increases in unemployment claims were in California, New Jersey, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Missouri. The steepest declines in claims were in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina, and Illinois.
