(Washington, DC) — The U.S. military is moving its sailors and Marines out of the path of Hurricane Florence. Marine recruits at Parris Island in South Carolina are leaving their base and the U.S. Navy is moving personnel from its base in Norfolk, Virginia. The Pentagon has ordered more than 30 ships to set sail away from the storm. The Air Force is relocating its F-15 fighter jets and KC-135 refueling planes from their base in South Carolina to Louisiana. Marines at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina are being ordered to shelter in place.
