Chicago Public Schools To Remain Closed Through April 20th
(Chicago, IL) — Chicago Public Schools will remain closed until at least mid-April due to the coronavirus pandemic. During her televised address yesterday, Mayor Lightfoot announced the nation’s third largest school district won’t be back in session until April 21st. Currently, all Illinois schools are closed through March 30th. CPS is also is canceling district-mandated end-of-year testing. This includes the Northwest Evaluation Association MAP test and teacher evaluations. The district is already handing out free breakfast and lunch to all city kids.
