More Than Half Million Canadians File For Employment Insurance

(Ottawa) — Canada is already seeing the damage the COVID-19 coronavirus is doing to their economy. More than a half million Canadians filed for employment insurance so far this week. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau [[ true-DOH ]] called it historic. Last year they received fewer than 27-thousand applications for the same week. Canadian officials have announced an 82-billion dollar package to help workers and businesses.
