Illinois National Guard: We Are Not Preparing For Roadblocks, Law Enforcement
(Chicago, IL) — Illinois’ National Guard commanders are doing all they can to push back on rumors that troops will soon be patrolling the streets. Illinois Adjutant General Richard Neely yesterday said the citizen soldiers who’ve been called-up to help fight the coronavirus are working with healthcare professionals or working on logistics. Neely said rumors of roadblocks and troop-enforced curfews are 100-percent false. The National Guard has taken to Twitter during the outbreak to push-back on rumors in real time.
