Playwright Terrence McNally Dies From COVID-19 Coronavirus
(New York, NY) — One of America’s leading playwrights is dead after losing a bout with the COVID-19 coronavirus at age 81. Terrence McNally won multiple Tony Awards and an Emmy. His works include “Love! Valour! Compassion!,” “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” and “Master Class.” He won his fourth Tony for his book to the musical “Ragtime.” McNally was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001 and twice underwent surgery. The playwright earned his first writing credit when he was only 23.
