State Report: Illinois Could Enter Major Economic Recession

(Springfield, IL) — A new report says that Illinois could enter a major economic recession as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Commission of Government Forecasting and Accountability released the report earlier this week detailing the next three years of the state’s budget, and outlined threats and opportunities. The commission said the longer the outbreak restrictions last, the greater the chance of a recession. Predictions are that the recession could be worse than that of 2008.
