This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, and southeast Illinois including: Cass-Christian-Clark-Clay-Coles-Crawford-Cumberland-Effingham-Jasper-Lawrence-Macon-Menard-Morgan-Moultrie-Richland-Sangamon-Scott and Shelby counties.
DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT… There is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon into the evening. Very large hail, along with damaging winds, are the primary concerns. However, a few tornadoes are also possible.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY… Northwest winds will gust from 35 to 40 mph on Thursday, causing travel difficulty for high profile vehicles. Temperatures are expected to fall to near freezing Thursday night, and again Monday night. This may damage sensitive vegetation.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT… Spotter activation may be needed between 4 pm and 10 pm. Please relay any information about observed severe weather to the National Weather Service while following all local, state and CDC guidelines. A conference call for emergency managers will be held at noon.

There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and early evening. Very large hail is the primary concern, along with damaging winds.
