Update on Lytle Park & Pool
The Mattoon Township Park Commissioners, their Advisory Board and Superintendent met to decide how Lytle Park & Pool would address the challenges of COVID-19.
We, just as all of our community, face the unknown with the extension of the stay at home order, social distance requirements, and the use of masks, etc. We are relying on advice from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the CDC, and the Office of the Governor.
The following decisions were taken with regards to the safety of the community and staff:
-We are sorry to announce that Lytle Pool will be closed this summer.
-The playgrounds in the park will remain closed until the Governor’s office allows us to re-open them.
-The bathrooms and water fountains will remain closed until the stay at home orders are lifted.
-The fountain in the park will remain closed until guidelines for groups increase substantially, at the direction of the Governor.
-Pavilion reservations must meet the governor’s guidelines for group sizes, social distancing and mask use. No reservations will be allowed for dates during the stay at home order.
-Please remember, all pets must be leashed in the park.
-Farmers Market is scheduled to start May 29th – social distancing rules apply.
Updates will be posted on Lytle Park Facebook & Instagram pages.
